OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
To be welcoming “gatekeepers” to all who enter our doors and to give witness to Jesus’ love. We strive to help our children and their families in their own personal faith journeys by walking with them in times of celebration and sorrow. We seek to share our Catholic Christian identity through religious instructions, faith formation, and by helping our children to continually develop their faith to live as Christians in today’s world. We hope our efforts will encourage and promote small faith communities, thereby bringing us closer in faith to one another and to God.
PROGRAMS
We serve children and youth in various programs:
CLOW (Children’s Liturgy of the Word) Grades K-3. Dates TBA

Youth Liturgies for grades 1-8: Dates TBD
Faith in Action: Every grade level participates in various social outreach events.

Our curriculum is in accordance with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the National Catechetical Directory approved by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Diocesan Guidelines.

Parking in rear of building where entrance door is located. The Center serves the youth as well as our parishioners and it also provides a meeting place for the community of Marcellus.

CHARTER FOR PROTECTION OF CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE
The Diocese of Syracuse has implemented the VIRTUS program to assist us in our ministry to create safe environments for our children to meet the requirements of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. To meet this goal, we must assure the training and screening of all clergy, religious, employees and volunteers who have contact with children under the age of 18. All of our volunteers have submitted to this training and background check and re-certification is required every five years.
Safe Environment Training for Children & Youth
Keeping our children safe is an important component of our parish faith formation programs. The Diocese of Syracuse has introduced a Safe Environment training program entitled “Circles of Care”. This program strengthens our commitment, as outlined in the “Charter for the Protection of Children & Young People”, to train and educate our children and youth. The content of the program can be viewed at: www.sydrio.org.
Circles of Care provides training for each grade level and will be offered each year and you will be notified by mail before each session.
If you prefer that your child not participate in this training, you may request an opt-out form from the Director of Religious Ed or download from Diocesan website.
