 Grade 1-3 Programs  (Release Time)

The following grades are released during regular school time for religious education provided by St. Francis Xavier according to the NYS Education Law of 1940.

 GRADES 1 & 2  RELEASE TIME      MONDAY

Grade 1 & 2 begins  Monday, September 26, 2016 – 2:10-3:10 pm and concludes May 15, 2017.

Classes meet at the Religious Ed Center, 53 North St., Marcellus NY

Students walk to and from KC Heffernan Elementary School and are escorted by aides.

They are dismissed from the Center at 3 pm and escorted directly into KCH.  They are dismissed to buses from their classrooms.

Call the office 673-4107 if you would like to enroll your child or go to “Registration” for appropriate forms.

SOCIAL JUSTICE:

Grade 1: “Blossom Buddies” – children plant & tend seedlings with loving care, smiles and prayers. They are asked to give their flower to someone special, maybe mom, grandma, or neighbor.

Grade 2:  “God Sox” – we ask our children to bring new socks throughout the year and these are given to various agencies that serve families and children in need.

 GRADE  3  RELEASE TIME   TUESDAY

Grade 3 begins Tuesday, September 27, 2017 – 2:10 – 3:10 pm and concludes May 16, 2017.

SOCIAL JUSTICE:

Grade 3: “Rainbows of Reading” Our students are encouraged to donate gently used story books. These are given to area hospitals, clinics, schools and agencies that serve children.

Grades 1-3: “Mittens for Jesus” Immediately after Thanksgiving we invite the children to bring in new mittens or gloves to decorate a special Christmas tree. We encourage the children to earn the money themselves.
